Cubular Chess
Not quite your intellectually sedate pastime…… Cubular Chess is a fast paced visceral tactical journey that will take you for a ride that is quite literally outside the box, and off of the conventional chess board. With 125 levels to conquer you will be busy as you traverse this cube. Command the direction of your tank as you maneuver around the six surfaces of a rotating cube and attempt to navigate through a series of pylons and turntables that present a formidable obstacle course as the clock ticks on.
Accumulate points as you capture the defenders of the royal couple ( Knights, Bishops, Rooks and lowly but dedicated Pawns ) and of course the top of the food chain - the King and Queen. Each level ends with the capture of the King and when you equal or beat the credits needed to advance. With 125 levels of game play Cubular Chess will keep you drawn into actively advancing through the levels as the challenges presented by each level become more intense.

Some games create an instant urge to stop the encroaching or challenging entities in question, and Battle Bowl certainly is one of them. After selecting a color for your boxer and starting the game you are immediately confronted with four differently colored spin boxers ( yours and three others ) that descend from shoots spaced equidistantly around the perimeter of a rotating bowl, then drop into the bowl with a swirling fury as gravity and collision making the targeting of your opponents in this free-for-all a real workout.
These militant little swirling pugilists are no easy target as you adjust your dual shooter controller by Range, Tilt, and Pivot through a series of 50 shots in an effort to affect the Spin Power and Power Fist levels. If you can send the opposing colors gyrating into motionlessness, or outright blast them out of the bowl, then your boxer will prevail. Not very complicated, but a very engaging procedure that requires timing and measured anticipation. |
